Fred "Big Fred" Watkins is a comedian, actor and show producer from Baltimore, MD. Known most notably as a member of “The Empire” on Oxygen Tv’s hit show “Last Squad Standing”.

 

Fred began his career in 2012 when a severely fractured neck and the tragic loss of a friend led him into a dark space. Fred was intrigued and inspired by many comedy shows and clips he watched during recovery, thus celebrating his “Neck release” by producing his first of what is now the annual BIG LAUGHS comedy show.

Since then, Fred has been using his story as inspiration to positively impact people through laughter, while innovating the live comedy experience and cultivating platforms for community enrichment. 

Inheriting the name Big Fred in light of his Father's passing as a kid, Fred is very passionate about building a legacy through Comedy and live entertainment. He has worked with many well-known artist in the comic and entertainment industries.

In 2015, Big Fred founded BIG Laughs Company LLC, a production company innovating live events and comedic content. Through this company, BIG Fred provides event planning and production services to brands, companies and organizations. The non profit component of Big Laughs Company LLC, “Lil Laughs” is an anti-bullying based mentoring program for kids that directly addresses public speaking, confidence, and various other enrichment opportunities.

Exercising his acting capabilities, Big Fred has been recently seen on Oxygen’s “Last Squad Standing” where he and his team (Team Empire) took home the season win!

Whether he is sharing the stage, or providing an extended platform at one of his produced comedy shows through BIG Laughs Company LLC, Big Fred is an innovator who is constantly finding ways to create new lanes in the comedy and entertainment industries.

Inspired by the likes of Dick Gregory, Jerry Seinfeld, Richard Pryor, Eddie Griffin, Steve Harvey, and Kevin Hart, BIG Fred is passionately providing a different take on the live comedy experience, and the greater impact comedy can have in the community.
